BACHATA with MONICA ASCENCIO

BACHATA with MONICA ASCENCIO
Saturday September 28
11:15-12:15pm
Yerba Buena Gardens (East Garden)

Bachata is a Dominican dance. This class will consist of basic patterns: basic steps, turns, hips, and some footwork. We will find a natural way to locate body isolations and flexibility with your body. The goal of this class is to give you the latin essence as a beginner level dancer to understand, connect, and let your body follow the Bachata rhythm and SABOR. No partnering is required. And more importantly, have a good time with Bachata.

Monica Ascencio (She/Ella) from SF, CA discovered her passion for latin dance while being introduced to the salsa scene of San Francisco, California more than 18 years ago. What started as a hobby soon developed into a passion and a form of expression in the arts. Monica continued her studies in Brazilian and Spanish dance with local and international teachers. Monica has been an active performer in Carnaval SF contingents, in social events in the Bay Area, in Latin and Brazilian dance.
