Marielle Amrhein (she/her)
Marielle Amrhein (she/her), is originally from NY where she grew up dancing with her mom. Her childhood was filled with ballet, tap, jazz and eventually modern, contemporary, hip hop, and Afro-Brazilian as she went on to get a BA in Dance and Philosophy (Mount Holyoke College). In the early/mid 2000’s, Marielle performed in SF with Kathleen Hermesdorf, Leslie Seiters, Taproot Dance Project, and Zooz (Belly) dance. For the past 2 decades she can be found doing authentic movement, yoga asana, and soulful dance practices, as well as teaching kids and infusing dance into workshops for personal and social transformation. Her current bodywork and somatic coaching practice is deeply informed by her lifelong study of dance and embodiment.
Marielle loves a good sweat, full body expression, and freedom through form. When she found Rhythm & Motion as a home for all that and more, she was wildly inspired to become a teacher. Dancing her heart out with the R&M community awakens joy, presence, and aliveness for Marielle and she hopes to bring this to you all on the dance floor and beyond!
